- Bar-Train Bermuda -

Bar-Train was founded in 1998, by Irving Raynor, with the help of the Bacardi Rum Company in Bermuda.  Irving started out teaching in the back bar of the Oasis Night Club (now the 'O' Zone), then moved to the Bermuda College in 1999, where it is now part of the P.A.C.E. Spring and Fall courses, Bartending 815.  Bar-Train has trained over 150 bartenders, since its inception.

The Bar-Train course teaches everything from what the different glasses are for and how to wash them properly, to learning about bar equipment and how to use it.  During this 45-hour course, students will learn about liquor, beer, liqueur and wine. They will also learn how to mix over 200 drinks, how to serve wine, make flambé coffee and speed techniques, as well as discovering the difference between regular liquors and premium brands.

One of the most-asked questions is, "Can I really become a bartender with just 45 hours of training?"  You sure can - with the leadership of Irving Raynor, who is also the instructor for other Bermuda College courses in the Waiter Certification Programme, such as Certified Dining Room Associate & Professional (FAB820) and the Certified Associate Wine Steward (FAB830).  Bar-Train also provides in-house training for wait-staff and bartenders.
